This Information and Training section is designed to help managers responsible for small industrial, commercial or public buildings to save money and reduce environmental impact by developing and implementing an Energy Plan.
For more information on the project and partnership, click on The project at the top of this page.
The seven guides can be accessed using the menus to the left. Each module within a guide opens in a new window.
- Efficient use of Energy provides detailed advice on a wide variety of energy efficiency measures relevant to buildings and the equipment in them.
- Renewable Energy Sources deals with alternative sources of energy (Solar Energy, Bio-mass Energy, Wind Energy, Geothermal Energy, Small Hydro Power and Hybrid Systems). These can be used to produce thermal and electrical energy for suitable buildings
and installations.
- Monitoring and Control Guide provides information on technologies for monitoring energy use and on energy control systems designed to minimise waste.
- Involving Stakeholders in Energy Management provides advice on getting people who manage, use and make decisions about buildings to find and implement solutions to improve a building’s energy performance.
- Train the Trainer manual aims to help energy trainers adopt a more facilitative and consultative approach when working with stakeholders and to manage the whole process of learning using skills outlined in the manual.
- Legislation Guide gives an overview of European legislation concerning Renewable Energy and Efficient use of Energy and also the legislation in Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Romania, Slovenia, Spain and the United Kingdom.
- Funding Guide indicates where you might go to obtain funding from the various European funding bodies.
Case studies are given within each guide. Additional case studies are provided illustrating General energy management and promotional schemes.
