The bioclimatic house does not need the installation of strange and expensive systems or equipment. It uses conventional architectural elements to increase energy efficiency and improve natural comfort. In that sense, bioclimatic design implies some constructive restrictions, although there is still some degree of freedom depending on the owner's preferences.
Bioclimatic architecture is always cost-effective in new or refurbished buildings.
For existing buildings, the introduction of bioclimatic elements can be quite expensive. Nevertheless, heating and cooling loads are usually enormously reduced.
